Bachelor programme Management & Digital BusinessThe elementary phase of the study programme provides you with know-how in the areas of business, law, IT, project management and digital skills. Moreover, the study programme strengthens your English language proficiency, improves your presentation skills and boosts your analytical competencies and creativity.
In the in-depth study phase you will deal comprehensively with entrepreneurship and implement the knowledge you have gained in a business project. In addition you can select two of the following modules:

English language skills are taught in an interconnected manner within the framework of the regular courses which also provide the students with presentation skills as well as analytical and creative competencies. Furthermore, students have the option to complete an internship abroad.
Vocational Internship in the Sixth Semester
The St. Pölten UAS sets great store by practice-oriented learning. In the sixth semester, you put your acquired technical knowledge into practice in the form of an internship. For a duration of 12 weeks, you apply your skills in a company from a relevant industrial sector – you may also complete your internship abroad.

After completion of the course, the students have sound basic knowledge of the digitalisation of business processes and the preparation of business models for the digital future. Innovation of goods vs. service innovation, the innovation process, methods of customer involvement, creativity techniques, blue ocean strategy, analysis and selection techniques, building an organisational innovation culture, case studies.
The developed ideas for innovations should, if possible, be linked to the Applied Programming course in order to check the technical feasibility and develop approaches for implementation. In addition, if possible, the course is associated with the application from the Project Management course.

After completion of the course, the students understand the importance of regular innovations in an entrepreneurial environment. The students are familiar with the ideal-typical sequence of the innovation process in an organisational environment. The students gain in-depth insight into project management tools (network analysis, agile project management, etc.) and know how to apply these project management tools to a specific project. If possible, the course is combined with the course Innovation Management. In addition, this course serves as the basis for a later project management certification.

The students deepen their practical experience by using the tools of project management. They acquire organisational and methodological skills that are required for the successful planning, control and execution of a project. They have gained an overview of situations in which these competencies are needed repeatedly in companies. In online courses and workshops, students are taught further programming languages and applications for practical use. The students can choose between tools and programming languages which they want to keep working on independently. Based on this, they create an independent project on the respective platform. Possible projects are: own website with or without CMS system, mobile, native or web-based application for iOS or Android, Windows application.
If possible, the project work should be linked with the course Innovation Management, in which innovative ideas for projects are developed.

The students have the ability to independently develop applications for different platforms (PC, smartphone, web). Based on their basic knowledge, they are able to understand, acquire and use new technologies and functions. Graduates of the course are familiar with software solutions that can be used in the context of statistical analysis, especially in the area of empirical work. The reality of a company is modelled using the business simulation game. Company processes and their interactions are simulated in a realistic manner. Corporate planning/management/control, investment activity, financing, financial accounting, cost accounting, integration of IT, marketing and personnel management are integrated. As a summarising final report, an exemplary annual report for the company is created containing the essential relationships.

After completing the module, the students have a better overview of the essential relationships and interdependencies within a company. They understand the relationship between models, terms and theories discussed in the course and are familiar with the causes of corporate success/failure. The students can understand which effects decisions can have in companies, and they are also able to assess the consequences of their decisions. They are able to manage a simulated company in teams and can understand the goals and tasks of the different disciplines in the company. The students apply the acquired skills and content of the previous modules of the study programme to a project with specific tasks. The students work on different projects in small groups. The projects are implemented in cooperation with selected business partners as clients. The content of the projects relates to the content of the study programme, with a key focus on the specialisations of the courses. The case study is carried out in different phases (situation analysis, goals, strategy, recommendations for implementation, measurement) for all groups.

The students are able to apply their theoretical knowledge or their first application experiences gained within the framework of the courses to a concrete and comprehensive case study in cooperation with companies from the industry.
