Data Protection Declaration and information about the copyright for the Creative Media Summer School
1. Photo Rights and Copyright
1.1. By participating, the participant acknowledges that video/image and/or audio recordings of her/him will be made within the framework of the event. The use is legitimised as a justified interest from the side of the St. Pölten UAS GmbH and Industry Meets Makers. You can object to this processing for direct marketing purposes via e-mail (for St. Pölten UAS GmbH at datenschutz@fhstp.ac.at or for Industry Meets Makers at sandra@industrymeetsmakers.com ) or by directly contacting a staff member on site.
1.2. The St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences GmbH and Industry Meets Makers reserves the right, free of charge, to use the video, image and/or audio recordings unlimited in time, place and content for the following purposes in particular:
• to publish and distribute on the official website of the St. Pölten UAS
• to publish on social media platforms
• to use for UAS-intern purposes including film screenings in the framework of in-house events as well as on the intranet or in-house communication systems
• to use in print products
• to stream the expert-inputs on the 29.06.2022 online and the outcome-presentations on the 30.06.2022 on the Facebook-Site of Industry Meets Makers and to save those streaming videos at the mentioned website above
1.3. In addition, the St. Pölten UAS has the exclusive and transferable right to use or let third parties use all works and results as well as parts of these (such as videos, photos etc.) either based on photo/video/audio recordings produced by the subject in this context, or arising from this shooting process and after editing the photo/video/audio material. The participant guarantees that all works submitted are free from third-party intellectual rights and she/he indemnifies and holds the St. Pölten UAS GmbH harmless in this respect.
1.4. The transferred rights particularly include the rights of reproduction, publication and distribution, of public display, broadcasting and performance, the rental and lending right, and the right to make the content available. They also include the right of unrestricted or partial retransmission and/or licensing of the transferred rights of use or the granting of authorisations of use to third parties.
1.5. Also transferred is the right to process the aforementioned photo/video/audio recordings as well as the works and results (including the right of translation or synchronisation to other languages) produced during the shooting process or after editing the photo/video/audio material, and the right to combine them with other, third-party works.
2. Data Protection
2.1. The data are processed for the purpose of the execution of the event. The acceptance of the event conditions constitutes a civil law contract regarding the participation in the event. The St. Pölten UAS automatically processes all personal data provided by the participant within the framework of the acceptance of the event conditions.

2.3. Your data will be used for direct marketing purposes for similar products or services of the UAS (those are events similar to the one you registered for). You will obtain this information via e-mail. The use of your data is legitimised as a justified interest from the side of the St. Pölten UAS GmbH. You can object to this processing for direct marketing purposes via e-mail (datenschutz@fhstp.ac.at) or by directly contacting a staff member on site.
2.4. Your data which are used for direct marketing purposes will be deleted 3 years after back contact (at the latest) unless you have agreed to longer storage.
2.5. Your photo/video data will be stored for as long as the purpose of data processing requires storage. This depends on the following criteria in particular:
• type of picture
• framework of the recordings
• suitability for portraying the company history
• suitability for use at anniversaries and in commemorative publications
• degree of invasion of the subject’s privacy interests
2.6. The collected data are used by staff members of the St. Pölten UAS GmbH, Campus-Platz 1, 3100 St. Pölten for the aforementioned purposes.
2.7. All data are stored on servers that are operated with high security standards and are protected against misuse and access by unauthorised persons.
2.8. All participants have the following rights:
• The right to access the respective personal data
• The right of appeal
• The right to rectification and erasure
• The right of data portability or restriction of processing
2.9. All participants can make use of these rights by responding to the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences GmbH as the responsible data protection officer (datenschutz@fhstp.ac.at).
• The right to lodge a complaint
2.10. All participants also have the right to file a complaint with the Austrian data protection authority, e-mail: dsb@dsb.gv.at as the responsible supervisory authority.
