Alumni & Career Services

The service unit responsible for alumni relations and career services, the Alumni and Career Center (ACC), aims at providing career services and professional orientation for current students and graduates of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences (UAS). Additionally, the ACC also serves as a platform for alumni offering various opportunities for professional networking and for forming lasting connections among alumni.

Career Services

The office for alumni relations and career services strives to provide career advice and guidance to current students, young professionals, and recent graduates. Together with our partners and team of external experts, we offer professional expertise in all matters pertaining to:

• A successful job application process
• Personal career orientation and career trajectories
• Conducting successful job interviews
• Negotiating and presenting in professional contexts

Career fairs and workshops

Career fairs (such as the karriere.netzwerk, erfolgreich.bewerben and the Firmenmesse der Bahnindustrie) and many workshops throughout the year are designed to provide students with a tangible introduction to the world of work and give them the unique opportunity to interact with potential employers in person. The supporting program at many fairs offers:

• Free of charge CV checks
• Photo shootings for CV pictures
• Career advice and professional guidance
• Free specialist literature
• Magazines and brochures about the fair
• Coffee and snacks

The fairs are generously supported by the Austrian Chamber of Labor, which offers legal expertise and workshops for our students not only during the fairs but also throughout the year. The refreshments at fairs are kindly sponsored by AK Young.

Alumni Club

Upon graduation, every student of the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences is automatically member of the alumni.club, which is free of charge and offers a wide variety of services and advantages for its members. Alumni are also encouraged to stay in touch with their fellow students and the vibrant community of the St. Pölten UAS by joining our Facebook or LinkedIn groups.

Various events throughout the year are designed to facilitate connections with the University of Applied Sciences and with the professional community in the respective field. Such events are either centrally organized by the ACC or by each department individually (with the support of the ACC).

Creative pre-incubator

The creative pre-incubator is a structured cooperation project of the St. Pölten UAS and accent Gründerservice GmbH sponsored by the FFG. The project enables a selected group of students and graduates of the St. Pölten UAS to work on their business ideas with the help of professional support!

Entrepreneurship

The RIZ, Niederösterreichs Gründeragentur Ges.m.b.H., supports freshly minted business men (and women) as well as young entrepreneurs in all questions pertaining to self-employment and accompanies them during the first few years of starting their business.
