By Train
It is only a 25-minute train ride from Vienna to St. Pölten.
You can find exact departure and arrival times at www.oebb.at or westbahn.at.
From the Train Station to the Campus
By Foot
From the St. Pölten main train station, about 10 to 15 min walk (1km). along a river.
Option 1: Direct Path along the Stream "Mühlbach"
From the platform, use the exit “Mühlweg” (to the east). For the exact itinerary, please watch this short video or the map below.
Option 2: Continuously Illuminated Pathway
Use the exit "Gewerkschaftsplatz" and follow the route on the map below.
By Bike
From the St. Pölten main train station, about 5min biking (1km) along a river. From the platform, use the exit “Mühlweg” (to the east). For the itinerary, see above.
Rental Bikes
Rental bikes are available at the St. Pölten main train station and in front of the main building of the Campus St. Pölten. The registration to the nextbike service is free and, in St. Pölten, the first 30min of each rental is free as well. More information at www.nextbike.at

By Car
From Vienna
Take the A1 (Westautobahn) until St. Pölten, take the first exit (St. Pölten Ost) and turn right immediately before the second traffic lights (towards Traisenpark).
After about 500m, turn right again at the next traffic lights onto the B1 (the university will be signposted).
After about 1.5km take the second exit on the roundabout, cross the Traisen river, go under the railway underpass and immediately afterwards turn left at the traffic lights onto Herzogenburger Strasse.
After about 700m, turn right onto Heinrich-Schneidmadl-Strasse (at ASBÖ). Go straight ahead across Eybnerstrasse, and you will find the university on the right and the university car park on the left.
From Linz
Take the A1 (Westautobahn) until St. Pölten, take the first exit (St. Pölten Süd) and turn left at the traffic lights towards Innenstadt/Krems.
Drive straight along Mariazeller Strasse for about 2km until the Europaplatz roundabout, then go straight across Europaplatz towards Krems.
Drive straight ahead for about 1.5km, go under the railway underpass, then turn right at the second traffic lights (petrol station on the right) onto Daniel-Gran-Strasse (the university will now be signposted).
At the third traffic lights, turn left onto Eybnerstrasse.
Go straight ahead, then left onto Heinrich-Schneidmadl-Strasse and you will find the university campus on the right and the university car park on the left.
From Krems
Take the S33, then the first exit (St. Pölten Nord).
Go straight over the first two roundabouts, then after about 1.5km take the first exit on the third roundabout onto Dr. Adolf-Schärf-Strasse.
Cross the Traisen river, go under the railway underpass and immediately afterwards turn left at the traffic lights onto Herzogenburger Strasse.
After about 700m, turn right onto Heinrich-Schneidmadl-Strasse (at ASBÖ).
Go straight ahead across Eybnerstrasse, and you will find the university on the right and the university car park on the left.
By Airplane
From Vienna
The nearest airport is Vienna International Airport. There is a direct ÖBB train connection from Vienna International Airport to St. Pölten. The journey to St. Pölten takes approx. 55 minutes. Tickets are available from ÖBB ticket machines or online.
Alternatively, take the Vienna Airport Lines coach to Wien Westbahnhof railway station and continue your journey to St. Pölten by train. There is an Airport Lines coach every 30 min. The journey takes 45 min. Tickets can be bought from the driver.
Campus Parking Lot with E-filling Stations
The parking lot is located on Heinrich Schneidmadl-Straße opposite the Campus.
There are four public e-filling stations that you can use if necessary. Otherwise, we ask you to keep the parking spaces at the e-filling stations free for people with electric or hybrid cars.
