„Hands On!“

The basic training in railway operations and the education in vehicle engineering and traction technology are offered at the ÖBB Training Centre St. Pölten where students enjoy practice-oriented training. The expert coaches of ÖBB put all practical teaching materials available on site to the best possible use.

The training centre features state-of-the-art training facilities including:

• 36 seminar rooms
• 16 driving simulators
• 1 shunting locomotive simulator
• 3 full-cabin simulators
• 5 training signal boxes for train drivers
• 3 training signal boxes for dispatchers
• 1 signal simulation hall
• 2 vehicle technology training halls
• 1 evacuation hall (tunnel rescue)

Outdoor facilities include track construction areas, training tracks, an inspection pit, and a diesel rail vehicle. Sports facilities such as football, basketball, and beach volleyball courts complete the offer.
