Award for E³UDRES² initiative
"EU Matters” campaign awarded 2nd place
The International Association of Former Employees of the European Union (AIACE), Austrian Section, and EUROPE DIRECT Lower Austria recently presented sponsorship awards of 1,000 euros and 500 euros in the Lower Austrian Landhaus. The aim of the award is to support people and organizations that are committed to Europe in their projects and to make their projects accessible to a broad public.
Award for initiative around EU elections
Second place went to an initiative of the European University Alliance E³UDRES² under the leadership of St. Pölten UAS: The “EU Matters” campaign on the occasion of the 2024 EU elections aimed to raise awareness of the European Union. As part of a video competition entitled “What does the EU mean to YOU?”, people from all over the world shared their stories and perspectives on the EU. The highlight of the campaign was the “Europe Day” on May 15, 2024 at the St. Pölten UAS, where employees and students took part in various activities and learned about the EU.
“Our E³UDRES² team is proud to have received recognition for our EU Matters initiative. The initiative, initiated by Hannes Raffaseder, aims to put the spotlight on European issues, in particular to engage young people ahead of the 2024 European elections and raise awareness of the importance of democracy. As an alliance of nine European universities, it was important for us to contribute to raising awareness of the EU elections,” says Edita Štruplová from the EU Matters organization team.
