International Networking Event Training in Nursing
Annual Conference of International Nursing Association ACENDIO held at St. Pölten UAS
The International Association for Common European Nursing Diagnoses, Interventions and Outcomes (ACENDIO) convened at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences last week. Lectures and workshops were held on the topic of eHealth in nursing.
ACENDIO came together for its first biennal workshop and its annual conference 2022 at the St. Pölten UAS last week. The association discussed “Hot eHealth topics to make nursing visible”.
Approximately 60 persons including nurses, teachers in higher education, nursing scientists, students, and health informatics specialists took part in the conference. An eHealth working group discussed topics such as the evidence-based implementation of a common specialist nursing language in the electronic health record system.
Network for Nursing Practice
ACENDIO promotes a joint European network for the further development of nursing practice through the use of standardised specialist nursing languages and nursing information systems. The St. Pölten UAS’ study programme Healthcare and NursingPLUS is an institutional member of ACENDIO.
“It is not commonplace for international nursing-related events to be held in Austria. We are therefore very happy about the opportunity to host this conference at the St. Pölten UAS and to support this important exchange”, explains Manuel Schwanda, deputy Academic Director of the study programme Healthcare and NursingPLUS.
“We want to thank the St. Pölten UAS for the hospitality and we are proud to hold our conference here with participants from 15 countries – some of them from South America and Africa”, says ACENDIO President Maria Müller-Staub.
“The fact that the specialist nursing language is a central topic of teaching in the nursing programmes offered by the St. Pölten UAS promotes the dissemination of these languages as well as our collaboration”, adds ACENDIO Vice President Claudia Leoni-Scheiber.
Studying Healthcare and NursingPLUS
Students interested in the St. Pölten UAS’ programme Healthcare and NursingPLUS have until May to apply for the winter semester 2022/23. Since this year, it has been possible to start the study programme both in the winter and the summer semester.
