Milestone for European Higher Education Initiative
St. Pölten UAS Represented at EIT HEI Initiative’s Closing Event
The European higher education initiative “EIT HEI Initiative” was launched for strengthening the innovation capacities of higher education institutions (HEI), for deepening collaborations between these institutions, companies, and the public administration, and for further developing entrepreneurial and innovation education.
At the beginning of June, the closing event of the initiative’s pilot phase took place in Brussels with a focus on three project calls implemented so far. St. Pölten UAS CEO Hannes Raffaseder was involved in taking stock of successes and lessons learnt.
St. Pölten UAS as Pioneer of the Initiative
“The St. Pölten UAS and the Higher Education Alliance E³UDRES² that it coordinates were already successful in the first pilot call with the project E.I.N.S. (E³UDRES² Entrepreneurship & Innovation Network for Smart & Sustainable Regions) and are therefore among the initiative’s pioneers”, says Raffaseder.
Hannes Raffaseder was invited to a high-level policy panel within the framework of the closing event – together with Antoaneta Angelova-Krasteva from the European Commission, Valtencir M. Mendes from the UNESCO, and Heinrich Arnold, Member of the Governing Board of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology.
In the course of the event, Raffaseder also had the opportunity to establish important contacts for future cooperation.
Due to the positive evaluation of the pilot phase, the “EIT HEI Initiative” will be continued in years to come. Another call is expected for September.
