Science podcast with Simon Ganahl
Our researcher speaks on the science podcast EpistemiCast about his pioneering qualitative projects in the field of Digital Humanities
In a series of interviews with the science podcast EpistemiCast, Simon Ganahl, who works as a researcher at the Institute of Creative\Media/Technologies at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences, speaks about his pioneering qualitative projects in the field of digital humanities.
The talks deal with the question of how researchers and students can be encouraged to use the knowledge of the arts to design and implement diverse and in-depth digital projects, in contrast to the currently widespread approaches that attempt to introduce quantitative methods into the humanities.

The interview was conducted in English by Rory MacDonald. Margit Wolfsberger compiled the show, titled Campus Talk, featuring the interview, which was also broadcast in late October on our Campus & City Radio St. Pölten.
Podcast Episode 1: Mapping Austrofascism
The first episode of the podcast focuses on Mapping Austrofascism, a long-running digital mapping project that explores a pivotal 24-hour period during the rise of Austrofascism in Vienna in 1933. The project illustrates how Simon Ganahl has developed his ideas over the last ten years into a multi-perspective digital experience inspired by, among others, the French historian and philosopher Michel Foucault and his concept of the dispositive.

Podcast Episode 2: InSituEx
The second episode of the podcast deals with the InSituEx research agenda directed by Simon Ganahl at the Institute of Creative\Media/Technologies at St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences. This conversation is about how InSituEx is being implemented as a digital toolbox to enable researchers and students to use the concepts developed in Mapping Austrofascism for multi-perspective experience design.
The interview leads into a discussion about the general question of how the knowledge of the arts can enrich and deepen work on and in digital media.
