Sustainable Futures: Open Lecture Series
Open lecture series for students, teaching staff and the general public
The University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten is excited to host a public lecture series on "Sustainable Futures" in the winter semester of 2024/25.
Students, faculty, and the broader public are warmly invited to attend. The lectures will predominantly be in English and will feature experts and lecturers from various disciplines, each presenting their unique perspective on sustainability. Additionally, we have invited external professionals to share practical insights on the topic. We look forward to welcoming all interested participants to join us in exploring sustainable futures.
What is the aim of the lecture series?
The main aim of the Sustainable Futures lecture series is to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and perspectives they need to actively engage in sustainability. By promoting critical thinking, interdisciplinary dialog, and showcasing practical examples of sustainable practices, we aim to inspire individuals to take action and create positive change in their disciplines, personal choices, communities, and beyond.
What content will be covered?
The lecture series covers a wide range of topics including sustainable business practices, food systems, renewable energy technologies, mobility and ethical consumption. By exploring the interconnectedness of environmental, economic and social issues, we aim to achieve a holistic understanding of sustainability and its importance for our common future.
