Project Preview at the St. Pölten UAS
On 14 June 2022, the St. Pölten UAS hosted its Project Preview – the fair for student projects in Lower Austria – for the 17th time. Be it practice-based projects or research proposals: Once again, the students’ works convinced the audience through their quality and innovative potential.
The best projects were awarded a prize. Each of the winning teams received EUR 500 in prize money from the Society for the Promotion of the St. Pölten UAS and Sparkasse NÖ Mitte West.
Winners of the Project Preview
- Tanja Tomitsch: BSE Smart Manufacturing: Development and Implementation of a partial automation of the introduction process in the St. Pölten UAS’ Makers Lab using the example of the 3D printer
- Paul Mayer: BSE Smart Automation: Implementation of an interface robot for ordering spare parts

The award ceremony featured Burkhard Schindlegger for the Sparkasse, while Renate Gamsjäger represented the Society for the Promotion of the St. Pölten UAS.
“The Project Preview is an interdisciplinary platform for student project work and showcases their potential towards the inside and the outside. The works are full of innovation, creativity, and project competence and were partly implemented together with external project partners from the region with a very high level of quality”, says Alois Frotschnig, Chairperson of the UAS Board.
Connecting Projects
The Project Preview gives students and lecturers the opportunity to explore each other’s project ideas, which are ultimately product ideas. This enables a lively exchange of experiences, interests, and teaching practices beyond the borders of project groups.
The Project Preview is promoted by Sparkasse NÖ Mitte West, Gewerkschaftsjugend NÖ, AK Young, and the Society for the Promotion of the St. Pölten UAS.
