Initiatives for Diversity
The St Pölten UAS recently signed the Charta der Vielfalt (diversity charter) of the Austrian Economic Chamber (WKO).
This charter is an initiative to promote appreciation for all members of society – regardless of gender, age, ethnic origin, skin colour, sexual orientation, religion and belief as well as physical or mental disabilities. By signing the document, the St. Pölten UAS has dedicated itself to the promotion of gender equality and diversity.
Promoting Diversity
Numerous measures are planned for putting the commitment laid down in the charter into practice. The St. Pölten UAS’ new Gender & Diversity Officer Anna Steinberger has already been able to set some priorities in this respect.
“We have various interdisciplinary tasks to address now: monitor gender equality, create new offers for raising awareness, establish multipliers, and anchor gender & diversity in research and teaching”, explains Anna Steinberger.
Lighthouse Project Inclusion
One important aspect of the work programme 2022 is a lighthouse project on “Inklusion in Studium und Lehre” (inclusion in learning and teaching) which is currently in the rough planning stage with participatory elements and needs assessments.
