International student conference at St. Pölten UAS
First edition of the international student conference was a complete success
On April 19 and 20, the Young Talents International Conference (ytic) was held for the first time as part of the Research Forum at St. Pölten UAS. The conference was planned and implemented by students of the master's program Digital Innovation and Research at the Department of Computer Science & Security.
At the first edition, students from universities from Austria (FH St. Pölten, University of Natural Resources and Applied Life Sciences), Finland (JAMK), Germany (HWR Berlin, Hochschule Fulda, SRH Hochschule Heidelberg), Belgium (Howest UAS), Lithuania (Vilnius Kolegija, Vilnius University) and Latvia (Vidzeme UAS) were represented. In 5 sessions, 14 papers were presented in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Cybersecurity.
The keynote "Ethics and AI" by Prof. Dr. Dagmar Monett-Diaz from HWR Berlin was particularly well received. The conference was rounded off by a security demonstration at the Cyber Defence Command Center.
The participants found plenty of time for networking during the breaks and ideas for new projects were already being forged, which will probably be presented at ytic 2024 in St. Pölten.
