Clone Optics
Sensor failures in industrial plants cause massive damage. Clone Optics offers a solution that makes it possible to achieve redundancy!
Modern industrial plants are a complex and finely tuned interaction of actuators and sensors. Due to the continuous operation of these plants, it is not uncommon for damage and consequently sensor failures to occur. Clone Optics offers a solution that makes it possible to achieve redundancy of this sensor technology in certain areas of plants by integrating existing sensors, such as security cameras. For this purpose, a computer vision (CV) solution is proposed that can be cost-effective in addition to the already installed sensors by utilizing already existing sensors.
The acquisition of Fischertechnik “Lernfabrik 4.0” by the University of Applied Sciences St. Pölten now provides an ideal environment for the realisation of such a project as part of the ILV IP (Interdisciplinary Project). In addition to various sensors that enable the identification of the workpiece, the system also integrates an USB camera that can be used to track the predefined process in the plant.
