In the advanced stage of the programme, students specialise by selecting two of the following four elective modules.
Event Management
From event conception through event law and technology to successful staging – learn how to organise an event that inspires people.
This module covers event design and planning, event-related law, event technology and event staging and production. Specialist topics within event management are addressed in a dedicated course in semester 5. Students can then apply what they have learned in the accompanying practical.
Media and Communications Planning
Hitting the target group spot on – find out how to plan advertising budgets and to effectively use the right media.
This module includes lectures on the contents and structure of media studies in Austria, as well as the fields of media and communications planning. Students then take an in-depth look at specialised media and communications planning topics and work independently on projects as part of the accompanying practical.
Advertising
Creating awareness and retaining customers – become familiar with the process of developing advertising campaigns and find out how to create effective advertising concepts.
Following courses on fundamental aspects of advertising, students look at how advertising campaigns are designed and the structure of conventional and direct forms of advertising. They then gain valuable experience by working on projects with industry partners as part of the accompanying practical.
Public Relations
Corporate media, press work or blogger relations – learn how to strategically plan PR and transport messages.
This elective focuses on public relations (PR) planning and PR tools. The writing workshop equips students with the skills they need to formulate PR messages. The accompanying practical is an opportunity for students to apply the advanced public relations knowledge they have acquired in lectures.
