Creative Code Lab 2 (SS 2024)

#/Media & Digital Technologies #Creative Computing (BA)

The second Creative Code Lab (CCL-2) of the bachelor degree programme Creative Computing focuses on the design and development of multi-user multi-screen websites. Here you can find an overview of the Lab’s results.

At the end of the summer semester 2024, the students had two weeks to leverage what they had learnt throughout the semester into developing their own websites. Individually, they worked on their website ideas, implemented front and back ends, and reported their results. Following this intensive work, the students were able to build creative pages, some of which presented here.

DISorDAT

The goal of DISorDAT is to offer users a fun experience with their friends where they can engage in a tournament-style "smash-or-pass" game to find out which of their preferences is the best. The website is easy to use and allows users to create their own sets for comparison.

Bookly

Bookly aims to simplify book discovery and access for readers by providing quick and easy PDF download links. This platform helps new writers gain recognition by allowing them to upload, manage, and delete their books. Bookly also offers a random book generator to help users find their next read effortlessly. It will feature a responsive design with an emphasis on good UI/UX to ensure a smooth and engaging user experience.

Memory Mastery

The goal of Memory Mastery is to enhance your knowledge in a more interactive and playful manner. Users can create personalised sets according to their preferences and modify them as needed. It is possible to use it for educational reinforcement to enhance learning with themed memory mastery related to school subjects like history and science. It is also possible to use it for personalised learning, building customised sets to match your interests, from world capitals to vocabulary in foreign languages. One can use it to sharpen memory skills and cognitive abilities through engaging gameplay for all ages, as well as to explore niche interests or personal memories, thus fostering creativity and self-expression.

Drawdle

The goal of the website Drawdle is to provide an interactive drawing game. Users can draw random prompts from word lists and upload their drawings to the community gallery. The game was made for amateurs who enjoy drawing and challenges, artists looking for a fun and interactive way to showcase their skills, and for communities interested in collaborative games and art.
