Bachelor programme Smart Engineering of Production Technologies and ProcessesYour future field of activity includes the conception, development and implementation of technologies and processes within the framework of Industry 4.0: as a specialist for the digitalisation of classic areas such as manufacturing and production, plant engineering, production logistics, simulation, and measurement/control/regulation technology, you will work in a target- and future-oriented manner. You will combine traditional fields of mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering/electronics and computer engineering with modern know-how of human-machine interaction and industrial security.

As a result of the programme’s strong emphasis on working independently in a range of team situations, as a graduate you are principally employed in technical project management and process management roles (analysis, development and optimisation) in industrial manufacturing. As a student you are actively encouraged to adopt an interdisciplinary, innovative mindset so you can play a part in defining new value chains as well as business and working-time models for Industry 4.0 environments. You are also able to implement the requisite technologies. This means you are well placed to enter careers in emerging areas, and assume roles such as innovation manager, systems engineer, production information scientist, shop-floor IT specialist, data scientist, security officer and usability expert.
